
MMC are the legal advisors in the consortium that has won the mandate to advice the Privitization commission of Kenya in the privatization of East African Portland Cement Company Limited.MMC are lead legal advisors to the Government of Rwanda on the ongoing Initial Public Offer (IPO) of Rwanda’s largest brewery, Bralirwa S.A, the first IPO in that country
MMC are part of the legal advisory team currently undertaking
the privatization of the five Government owned sugar companies
MMC is advising National Oil Corporation of
Kenya in its proposed acquisition of certain upstream and
downstream assets from Total Kenya & Chevron Kenya. MMC was the leading legal advisor for the special team that has
managed the initial public offering and flotation of Safaricom Limited,
on the Nairobi Stock Exchange - the largest IPO in sub Saharan Africa
at 50 billion.
MMC provided legal advice to Zimele Asset Management in
establishing and registering its Unit Trust, including successfully
pursuing its licensing by the Kenya Capital Markets Authority.
MMC undertook a detailed legal review of Kenya’s legal and
taxation regime, with respect to the securitization of corporate debt
and other receivables on behalf of a New York based Private Equity
Fund.
MMC has advised a leading Kenyan stock brokerage firm in
establishing and acquiring a licence in Uganda and Rwanda.
In conjunction with the Rwandan legal counsel, MMC has advised a
major Kenyan media and advertising firm - Saracen Media, in
establishing its operations in Rwanda.
MMC advises on a regular basis on debt and equity offerings in the
Nairobi Stock Exchange, Fund Management, and Private Placements.
Our team leader - Mr. Njoroge Nani Mungai, has extensive commercial
law experience. He has been our team leader in the Safaricom IPO
and pioneered our team at the Capital Markets Authority that drafted
the rules and regulations of the new Capital Markets Act in the early
1990s.
