Crafting the future in a way that provides economic, ecological and social benefits for all underlies the way we do business at MMC Africa Law. Our actions as a firm in the area of responsible citizenship are many and varied throughout our practice. Our responsible citizenship programmes focus on:

1. Young Lawyers Program

The Firm runs a bursary scheme where every year it sponsors a certain number of candidates enrolled at the Kenya School of Law. During 2017/2018 academic year, the Firm paid tuition fees worth KSh. 1.8 Million for 18 students at the Kenya School of Law .The sponsorship is for those who have successfully passed their Bachelor of Laws course with good grades but are unable to pay their Kenya School of Law tuition fees. The Firm has for years been supporting a successful pupillage program. We offer job shadowing, internship, pupillage and training opportunities to students from schools, universities and post university.

2. Volunteering
All the members of our team have opportunities in the various communities in which they live and work to take an active role in society. We support and encourage our teams to use their legal knowledge and professional skills to promote social inclusion, benefiting those who are disadvantaged, under privileged or lack access to the advice that they need.

3. Charitable Activities
Supporting communities through charity work by giving our time and money is important to us and we continually seek and utilize opportunities to get involved. The Firm has been a supporter of the Loldia Primary School in Naivasha where we contribute towards payment of salaries for the private teachers of the school. We also support education by allowing students from various High schools to learn at our Firm by offering them holiday jobs. Each quarter, a member of our firm has the opportunity to select a school of their choice to benefit from our mentorship and charity programme where members of our team give talks and equipment to the students.

This is in line with MMC Africa Law’s commitment in giving back to society as part of its CSR program. Besides the above bursary scheme, the Firm also supports Riara Primary School in Kiambu County, Kalawa Primary School in Kitui and Loldia Primary School in Naivasha.
